Ingersoll Rand, global experts in industrial flow creation and compressed air technologies, and Garrett Motion, developers of turbocharging and advanced compressor technologies, have announced a multiyear strategic partnership focused on next-generation oil-free industrial air compression systems.

The collaboration brings together Ingersoll Rand’s expertise in industrial compression platforms and system-level engineering with Garrett Motion’s oil-free centrifugal compressor technologies to support development of advanced air systems for industries requiring 100% oil-free air environments, including food and beverage manufacturing, life sciences, and other process-intensive industrial applications.

The companies are focusing on oil-free compressor technologies designed to improve process efficiency, reduce energy consumption, and support sustainability initiatives across demanding industrial operating environments where air purity, uptime, and reliability are critical.

The partnership is also expected to support development of alternatives to conventional compressor systems in applications where contamination control, operational consistency, and long-term efficiency remain essential requirements.

“This collaboration reflects our continued focus on delivering differentiated solutions that create superior value for our customers,” said Vicente Reynal, chairman and chief executive officer of Ingersoll Rand. “By working closely with Garrett Motion, we are strengthening our ability to innovate at the system level and address markets where performance, purity, and efficiency are non-negotiables, helping customers operate more efficiently and sustainably.”

“We are excited to partner with Ingersoll Rand to create a distinctive oil-free solution for industrial air compression,” said Olivier Rabiller, chief executive officer and president of Garrett Motion. “Ingersoll Rand is an ideal partner for Garrett as we expand the use of our unique oil-free high speed compressor technology to bring lower lifecycle costs and increased sustainability to operations in the industrial space.”

Initial products developed through the collaboration are expected to be introduced to select customers during 2026, followed by broader commercial rollout beginning in 2027 across Ingersoll Rand’s global sales regions.
